Minotaurs Space Marines Chapter Step by Step Painting Tutorial OK here goes with my first painting tutorial for the Badab War Minotaurs Space Marines Chapter. I have been looking for a new set of space marines to paint apart from Space Wolves and I love the history and fluff behind this chapter. Imperial Armour 10 has this chapter in a dark bronze armour with red as the contrasting colour and gold for the weapon metal parts and some shoulder pads. The miniature is just a bog standard assault marine without the backpack. I liked the pose and used a loin cloth from a space marine commander box set to make the miniature fit in with the chapter. Minotaur Space Marine Paint Guide Step 1 First up a light spray of GW chaos black spray paint. A little tip when working on plastic miniatures is you can temporarily glue them to plastic bases with superglue and it will easily come off the original base if you have a more scenic base in mind Step 2 The basecoat for the armour is 70% GW Hashut Copper and 30% GW Warplock Bronze mixed with water and painted on in multiple thin layers...
Sons of Horus WIP Septembers WIP has started afresh after games day and I have learnt a lot through feedback and really studying the finalists and winners to see where I am going wrong. Haven’t started work on anything new at the moment as there is no rush as I doubt I will go to GDUK2013. Anyway here is a bit of fun I am working on and a test of colours that I saw on GW Stockholms Facebook page. I haven’t captured the colour they used but its a close and needed to get this miniature finished once and for all. A long way to go but I like the colours and will be glad to get him finished. Almost done, hes been chipped and shaded a bit more and I freehanded the Horus badge. Not my greatest mini but I love the colour...
Asterion Moloc Work in Progress I’m still working away on the minotaurs chapter master Asterion Moloc and I have almost finished the front of the shield. I still have the wreath and middle gem in between it to paint and some highlights on the black horns. Some of the gold work will need touching up after I filled it with a white stone like colour (or that’s what I was aiming for) Thanks to RussDe for suggesting I break up the contrasts on thew shield as before there was just too much bronze. Aiming to do a lot of gem work on the miniature as he is the chapter master and for once I’m not rushing this miniature. Still haven’t worked on the back of the shield yet but going to attempt some sort of freehand to jazz it up a bit, although it may go wrong and just get painted black. Here are the most recent pictures from Asterion himself and his shield. Still not sure about the spear white stone but going to work on this a bit more and may change to marble or something… Comments and crits always welcome Amazon.co.uk...
